I'm so happy I've got the Japanese translation of this novel. I already own the English and the censored Chinese versions, but I think reading the story in Japanese is somewhat closer to the original, but still easier to read for me than the Chinese one. Meatbun or Roubao Bu Chi Rou has a beautiful wiritng style, which also requires you to be knowledgable of Chinese traditional literature. This volume covers the events past the Ghost Wedding, the text is a bit small and has about 2 pages in one, which makes it a little harder to read. However, the lightnovel has a very few illustrations, but those really look beautiful. They are similar in style as the Manhua, so I can really recommend this. There are also cultural notes in footnotes, so I have to say this is really a great alternative to the English release.

I think the Japanese version of the light novel follows somewhat the division of the English novels as we are almost at the first heavenly rift. Mo Ran gets more and more aware that his relationship to Chu Wanning has changed already and that he sees him in a completely different light already. However, he is also still determined to save Shimei in this lifetime. There's a lot of secret plots going on here, there are a lot of questions in the story, which you will first find out in far later numbers. Although the story of the Husky and His White Cat Shizun is very dark and serious, there are a lot of comedic scenes in the book that you will get something of everything. Jut be prepared that the whole story gets gradually darker with every novel.

I am delighted with this manga, it is very nice that the Japanese work quickly and send parcels promptly, the manga appeared to me a month later. (I live in Belarus) I will always admire Harada and the way she prescribes the characters and their dynamics, very funny guys. Happy kuso life made me happy. I'm really looking forward to more.Thank you.

Tian Guan Ci Fu is one of my favourite two Japanese BL novels. It's such a beautiful and magical story with so many very multilayered characters. Reading the Japanese version is such a delight! It's closer to the original than when I read the novel in English - and yes, I now own this novel in almost every language I know. If you're in for a really well-told and slowly build up fantasy story, you won't regret getting this one. I was really hooked reading about San Lang and Xie Lian and yeah this first volume has everything that makes a good start for a really long story!

This volume is full of flashbacks! You'll read about Xie Lian's past, a hopeful young prince seeking (and suceeding) to ascend to the Heavens as a God. But being a God has a lot of different rules so you'll see how such an inspiring young man as Xie Lian slowly struggles with life. I can only recommend TGCF as a novel. The Japanese translation is really great and I have to say it's so much fun reading it in Japanese vs. the English version.

I bought this as a gift for a friend. She didn't know it's a novel and thought it was a manga. But she said it is okay as she can read Japanese.

STARember who draws the manhua adaptation has the world's most detailed and unbelievable beautiful art style! But story wise, this volume covers chapter 1-6 of the original novel. So the progress is very, very slow. However the panels and flow of the illustrations are very cinematic! It is as if you're reading a movie. Please if you can, get this manga and enjoy a very complex character named Xie Lian. He seems to be very funny at first, but he has a lot of layers in the later story that you can discover through reading. I'm currently waiting for the third volume to arrive. I can't wait!

one of my favorite BLs, I read it online and knew I had to get a physical copy! I will use it to practice my Japanese! The art is so lovely. everyone should read it!

One fun fact is that on the cover and between chapters there is this line: 'Your love makes me at once the happiest and the unhappiest of men' What is that?! It is ^$#@&$ BEETHOVEN - Letter for the immortal beloved... It took me so much time to process this and think about it, and and I'm still not sure how to think about it but I still cannot get over the fact that I have basically fount out about existence of this piece of history thanks to a furry BL. I love Nagabe... I love his's storytelling, art, especially his anthropomorphic animals + BL - it is a match made in heaven; it's great that this one is in general not NSFW at all, but more on the philosophical side.

Ramble part first: It makes me saddened to no end that there is no vol. 3 in sight, yet...thus I am re-reading this again.... I rarely get to see so well-done psychological depiction of certain things in a story, and I am really in love with the way this author does it. This is one of series that I have grown the most attached to, it is 10/10. Art is really good, the dialogues are super-natural, I love the story. It is not a dark story, but has some dark elements, eg. some behaviors that are usually normalized but in here, it somehow makes you thing about it; then some backstories that explains why a given character acts the way they do etc. It gets quite sad at times. I may as well be a sucker for stories with childhood friends and unrequited love trope, but this one is really, really great!

My first time buying japanese drama DVD and it's definitely worth it!!!!! The content are amazing and not disappointing at all!!! 10 out of 10 would buy the dvd or bluray again if they have S2 or movie~

The story amazing.an incredible story with love at its core, with landscapes from an ancient and modern civilization. The quality of the material is very good.

This story quickly became one of my favourites and things start to accelerate quickly in this volume. I hope the mangaka is doing well as the release schedule leaves a lot to be desired :(((

I really liked the performances of the both voice actors,especially Junya Enoki. The only bad thing that happens is that whenever I watch JJK with my friends, it reminds me too much of this and my thoughts start to wander. Jokes aside, I recommend this CD to all of the fans of the series it is indeed lovely and VAs did an amazing job.

Must buy for fans! I bought this for the DVD actually and very happy with my purchase. CDJapan delivery is fast too.
