Very fun record and sounded fantastic! If you loved the playful nature of the movie it will take you back! Recommended for any Ghibli fan!

When the movie came out last year, I had already bought the soundtrack CD of How You Want to Live Your Life. This time, I bought LP and listened to the song "Real People's Determination". Hisaishi-sensei composed music for Studio Ghibli films, and he still has the same skills as he did back then. I don't know if the two teachers, Joe Hisaishi and Hayao Miyazaki, will be able to work together next time, so I will cherish this album very much. What a good movie and a good soundtrack!

I was impressed by the sound quality of this release. I was concerned about the quality right out of the packaging as I noticed scuffing and a piece of drilled out vinyl sitting on the playing surface on disc 2! I was concerned it scratched the disc creating pops, but thankfully it didn't! Hopefully no others have experienced this quality check fail. I'd recommend this release, the music from Joe Hisaishi is beautiful and transports you to a wonderful place.

The piano arrangements on this CD are very pretty, I love to listen to it when I can't sleep or need an escape for a bit

This two-disc album of Takatsugu Muramatsu's score for the Ghibli film When Marnie Was There contains the image album on Disc 1 and the film score on Disc 2. The film score is lovely and worthwhile, but the fairly short (22 min) Image album is worth the price alone. The five tracks (not including a piano reprise of "Anna") are utterly sublime. Muramatsu has composed sumptuous, grand, emotional music that recalls Joe Hisaishi at his finest.

Absolutely gorgeous 2LP Set soundtrack to an equally amazing classic film!! The packaging is absolutely stunning with so much detailed scenes and artwork from the film. There's even a pull out piece in the #1 LP slot with a bunch of info (in Japanese) about the background and such about the composition etc. The LPs themselves have lovely artwork from the film in the center on each side. Then the music itself sounds even better on this format. You can really hear such precise details you can't hear on the CD counterpart. Joe Hisaishi was a genius composing something of this brilliance for Mononoke Hime. Also just to mention CDJapan was quick at delivery and packaged it extremely well so it arrived in pristine perfect condition. Extremely Highly Recommended!!

This is a faithful re-release of the original soundtrack CD - the only difference is that the photo on the back cover has been cropped to remove the original release information. The music is as good as I remembered. It's both evocative of the movie and fun to listed to on its own. Highly recommended.

i love looking through miyazaki's storyboards & seeing all the little notes even if i cant understand them. book came in amazing condition & i absolutely treasure this

This was my fifth purchase at CDJapan. Again, still no regret. The package as it is always was neat and safely arrived without any damage, and of course it's original! I bought this CD as a birthday present for my friend and she like it very much! Cute case cover. Calming and relaxing orgel sounds. Arigatou gozaimashita!

About the books and tote bag: Everything arrived safe and well packed, the tote bag looks so cute and the books...I cannot find enough words to describe how amazing they are. I ordered not expecting any English inside the book and I was so thrilled to find out that there is English translation side by side with Japanese description *tears of joy*. All in all the quality of everything in this set is top notch. I will hug them to sleep at night. About the service: I have ordered books via cdjapan before and the service never fail to satisfied me. The order arrived super fast (from Japan to Germany), packaging is simple yet super efficient and very carefully packed. I am living in EU so I have to pay the custom fee to receive the items but everything was done online with instruction and super easy to follow. Overall 10/10 :)

It's my first time purchasing from CD Japan, I bought 2 books here. Although they are famous with entertainment products, I found out they also have large collections of other things including literatures. The service , the products quality, and delivery are beyond my expectation. I will give more than five stars review if any.

This review is less about the story of the book than the book's quality. The book is really cute but the printing quality of the text is bad and the letters are very pixelated. Since the book itself is so cheap, I only deducted one star for the printing quality. Other than that, Japanese Beginners should also know, that the book does not have Furigana, so I recommend you to either be good with your basic kanji or to have a kanji dictionary ready while reading the book, even though it's a children's book. Still it's a great book, especially when you need to practice reading.

The cd arrived today, it took exactly 20 days to arrive, its awesome. In perfect shape, absolutely no damage. The songs are just amazing, takes us to a very peaceful place.

The soundtrack is absolutely stunning. This has got to be one of the best purchases I've ever made. It makes me so happy listening to it. I hope to get the other soundtracks eventually, so I can have the whole collection!

I eagerly awaited the American home release of Castle in the Sky when it was first announced in 1998. Sadly, it took five years for me to see the movie, but it has become my favorite Ghibli film. And I fell in love with the redone soundtrack. It has taken a ridiculous amount of time for me to get a copy, but it was worth it. My only complaint is that the music for the siege on Tidus Fort with the robot soldier has been trimmed for some reason. As much as I like the original version of the OST, this rendition is a must have for Joe Hisaishi fans.

This DVD was my first time watching this film. I like the world of Lupin the Third. There was more to this than I thought. I was pleasantly surprised by the style of this movie. It has style, good tasteful humor, great detail of picture and characters, and a good pace. Mr. Miyazaki was a very good director. I can say with conviction that this movie is a classic.

We, as human beings, are social creatures and we thrive best when we find and maintain meaningful relationships with family, friends, and other loved ones. This, as well as, family, health, and happiness beat strongly as important themes and message in this very heart warming and tear jerking animation by Studio Ghibli. Even though we may be estranged or unacquainted with some family sometimes the connection is still just powerful enough to penetrate us. The main character, a loner, who is removed from her usual surroundings due to illness and moves out into the country to get away from the mental and physical stresses of living in the city. During her temporary relocation she becomes focused on Marnie, the other main character, and finds her meetings with her comforting. From this, an important relationship builds. Little does this young girl know the relationship between her and the mysterious Marnie goes deeper. The reveal of this deeper relationship and the origins is quite tear jerking. I enjoyed this animation and I recommend that others watch this too. Watching it will make you feel good.

I did not think the animation was going to be that good, so I was going to pass and choose something else. To my surprise, after I saw that it was nominated for an Emmy, here in the U.S.A, I decided to watch and find out for myself. I truly recommend this theatrical animation to anyone. The animation style was what really I found the most interesting part. I was not sure how much was drawn by the hand or how much was drawn by the computer but I had feelings that it was drawn by the hand, mostly. The next most interesting would be the period the movie took place. It takes place in old Japan and that was something I really liked because I felt I was learning a little about Japanese history and culture. The story was very moving, entertaining. I must also say surprising because I was not familiar with the folk story that this animation comes from and there were some times watching the animation when I was certain about what would happen but another event took place. I again recommend this to all. Enjoy!

Ponyo is a movie that makes you feel good when you watch it; the scenes are so beautiful to watch, and so the characters. It's a cute, lovely and innocent version of Little Mermaid fairy tale; perfect for children. Also, the Blu-ray has an owesome quality; watching it on my TV screen was really good!
