This newly remastered SACD restores and reveals the original dynamic range of Karajan's Bruckner 9 from 1966 probably for the first time.

R.Strauss: Ein Heldenleben [SHM-SACD] [Limited Release]Herbert Von Karajan (conductor)Get it while you can

Bolero & Tenrankai no E [SACD Hybrid]Kazuyoshi Akiyama (conductor)/Tokyo Symphony OrchestraExhilarating Performance
Some of my favorite classical pieces combined on one disc and performed to perfection. The sound is very accurate and tones seem right to my ears. However the overall volume seems to be low. Playing at the same volume level as comparable recording do indicate about 6 dB less on average. Still, this is a very worthy representation of Bolero. One my favorites.

Trevor Horn Reimagines - The Eighties Featuring the Sarm Orchestra [Cardboard Sleeve]Trevor HornWhat a surprise
What a surprise this Album has turned out to be. I'm always curious as to how songs can be interpretated by others and here are several very fine examples of just that. Gabrielle Alplin nails "Dancing In The Dark" beautifully, Matt Cardle "The Power Of Love" a heartfelt rendering of the FGTH classic, Simple Minds "Brothers In Arms" would not be out of place in their live sets and Trevor Horns Instrumentals would certainly find a place in the Proms. Nice.

Debussy: Nocturnes / Franck: Symphony in D minor, etc.Sergiu Celibidache (conductor)celi's mphil at their best again
Splendid sound of a splendid orchestra, and a wonderful reminder of how important Celi was to it. Looking forward to other sacd releases of them.

Bruckner: Symphony No. 2 / No. 6 [SHM-SACD] [Limited Release]Horst SteinMust-have Bruckner 6
The old tapes sound excellent in this new SACD release, providing a detailed glimpse into the orchestral performance. Both interpretations are captivating, likely due in part to the fact that these recordings were made during the heyday of the legendary Decca sound. I particularly appreciate how the horns and trumpets are spatially distinct, which has a favorable impact, especially in the first movement of the 6th Symphony.

Best Of KodoKodoGood
I am not a fan of KODO, but heard a couple of their tracks. The best one are featured in this release.

The Complete Bach Collection (SA-CD Hybrid Edition) [Limited Release]Glenn Gould (piano)A wonderful edition
I would not comment on Glenn Gould’s performances. Just my opinion on the sound quality of this edition which is exceptional. For example, the 1981 Goldberg Variations have become clearer. There is much more space between the notes. They are better defined and the tone are much more beautiful than in the 1999 SACD version of SONY.

Rachmaninoff : Symphony Complete Works - Symphonic Music Collection (2023 Mastering) [SACD Hybrid] [Tower Records Limited]Yevgeny Svetlanov, State Academic Symphony Orchestra of the Russian FederationPotent Echoes in Supreme Sound
Evgeny Svetlanov’s interpretation of Rachmaninov’s symphonies, now available in a SACD set, is nothing short of breathtaking. The DSD remastering of the high-resolution PCM master files, released for the first time, brings an unprecedented level of clarity and depth to the music. Each note resonates with a richness that captures the emotional intensity of Rachmaninov’s compositions. The improved sound quality truly allows Svetlanov’s dynamic conducting and the orchestra’s potent performance to shine. This set is a must-have for any classical music enthusiast.

Tchaikovsky: The NutcrackerAndre PrevinEntire Performance on One Disc
An outstanding recording of my favorite symphony. The entire performance captured on one single disc. No more changing four albums or even 2 CD discs.

Beethoven: Symphony No. 9Andrea Battistoni / TOKYO PHILHARMONIC ORCHESTRAOne of most enjoyable Beethoven 9th.
New generation conductors like Battistoni, tend to interpret Beethoven's 9Th. Symphony as per Beethoven intention. This including fast pace and quick tempo especially on 1st. movement.allegro ma non troppo, Battistoni done it mealy 13 minutes while old generation conductors like to make it too long (some as long as 18 minutes which is destroying Beethoven intention). Recording with Tokyo Phil also give a good vibrant to the Symphony. Dynamic and sound stage is very good. I wish I could see them preform live.

Berlioz Symphonie fantastique [SHM-SACD] [Limited Release]Herbert von Karajan (conductor)Long due SACD remastering
Although the recording itself is well-known, this new SACD enables you to enjoy it in all its full glory. Compared to the latest remastering for the Karajan 70s box, this new edition sounds warmer and in fact really full-bodied compared to the somehow anemic Karajan 70's CD. It's quite obvious for me that the remastering also includes a completely new remix.

Offenbach Gaite Parisienne, Gounod Faust Ballet Music: Karajan / Berlin Philharmonic [SHM-SACD] [Limited Release]Herbert von Karajan (conductor)An hour of untarnished pleasure
What's not to like with this? The music itself is pure joy and entertainment. This new SACD presents it due to the new DSD remastering in the most rewarding way in my opinion. Compared to previous CD releases, the overall sound is more enveloping.
