惜しまれながらも57歳の若さで急逝した、孤高の天才=プリンス。1995年以降に発売され、廃盤後は入手困難となっていた彼の作品を、CDやアナログ・レコード等のフィジカルで発売していくカタログ・リリース・プロジェクト＜LOVE 4EVER＞の第4弾として3タイトル発売。本作は、1995年夏にパリのファッション・ウィークで開催されたイタリアのラグジュアリーブランド＜ヴェルサーチ＞のショウにて来場者に無料で配布されたプリンスの幻のカセットで当時500本のみ生産された貴重な作品『ザ・ヴェルサーチ・エクスペリエンス』が遂に初CD化! 当時まだ発売前のアルバム『ザ・ゴールド・エクスペリエンス』に収録の「ゴールド」や「アイ・ヘイト・U」「P.コントロール」のリミックス・バージョンほか、プリンスのジャズ・フュージョン・プロジェクト＜マッドハウス＞(Madhouse)やザ・ニュー・パワー・ジェネレーションの未発売音源を収録。
