Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers / Long After Dark [2SHM-CD+Blu-ray Audio] [Deluxe Edition]

This is the 2CD + Blu-ray Deluxe Edition of the 1982 release "Long After Dark". It includes 12 rare tracks, featuring 7 previously unreleased songs.

The Deluxe Edition also features tracks that were left off the album during discussions about its direction. Notable highlights include "Never Be You," sung by Petty himself (a song that became a chart-topping hit on the country charts in Rosanne Cash's version), the quirky pop number "Don't Make Me Walk The Line," and an uptempo version of "Ways to Be Wicked," recorded at Applewood Studios in Denver, Colorado (previously covered by Lone Justice).

Many of the additional tracks were produced during sessions for French television, including standout acoustic numbers like "Keeping Me Alive," which shows a strong Everly Brothers influence.

The set includes 2 CDs with the original album and bonus tracks (mixed by Ryan Ulyate, a longtime engineer of Petty’s works), and a Blu-ray Audio disc containing high-resolution stereo and Dolby Atmos mixes of the album tracks, also mixed by Ulyate.

The package, designed by Grammy-winning designer Jeri Heiden, includes liner notes written by David Fricke, featuring commentary from Jimmy Iovine and Cameron Crowe, as well as photographs taken by Dennis Callahan, Neal Preston, and Aaron Rapoport.

[Japan Edition Exclusive] Includes translated English liner notes and lyrics, SHM-CD format.
