This hi-fidelity Blu-spec CD2 contains the motion picture score for the original Ghostbusters movie by Elmer Bernstein. I've always liked this score, it sounds like an old fashioned scary movie from the 1950s with a small hint of comedy attached to it. It's a perfect fit for the movie. I also find this music is perfect to play during Halloween season and in Fall in general, it really sets a nice vibe. Plus, this Japanese edition contains the end credits as a bonus track!

映画『ゴーストバスターズ』公開35年を記念して企画された巨匠エルマー・バーンスタイン作曲によるスコアを収録したオリジナル・スコア盤。映画公開時から発売中のOSTはポップス・ナンバー中心の選曲でエルマー・バーンスタインのスコアは2曲収録されているが、本アルバムには映画本編で使われなかった曲も収録したスコア・ファン待望のアルバム。これが国内盤初発売となり、日本盤ボーナス・トラックとしてエンド・クレジットを収録。エルマー・バーンスタイン (1922年4月4日-2004年8月18日)は20世紀映画音楽界における巨匠で、『十戒』『荒野の七人』『大脱走』『アラバマ物語』等歴史に残る名作のスコアを手掛けている。1950年代から2000年代まで各10年毎全てにアカデミー賞ノミネートを果たした。ブックレットには息子ピーター・バーンスタインの特別寄稿文を掲載。
