When I went to see this movie in the theatre I expected something enjoyable but maybe a little ridiculous; what I got was an utterly gorgeous movie with lovely emotional depth. I loved it and I knew I'd want to own it as soon as it came out on DVD/bluray. I was delighted to see it here region free and with English subtitles, and having just rewatched it (working flawlessly on my player in the US, as the region free status promises), I have the same feelings!

After Suzume makes a mistake with the door she finds, she learns that there are doors that should be closed and locked to prevent some giant worms from entering this earth from a place called ever-after. These worms can cause earthquakes.
